How LED Light Therapy works

LED light therapy uses various wavelengths that correspond to different visible colors. Each color penetrates the skin at different depths. Light therapy treats a range of skin issues. Skin specialists at Fabbar MD use LED light therapy together with other treatments, facials, to give you the best results. Different LED colors do different things. For example, During treatment, skin specialists may use a combination of lights to treat your specific issue.

Red LED light therapy may reduce inflammation and stimulate the production of collagen, a protein responsible for younger-looking skin that diminishes with age. Red Light travels further into your skin.

Blue LED light therapy may destroy acne-causing bacteria. Blue light affects the uppermost layer of your skin.

LED Light Therapy Side Effects

Individuals may experience temporary skin irritation in the area exposed to treatment. It may feel a bit like a sunburn. It’s important to note that this effect is not a sunburn. Sunburns are caused by ultraviolet light, which is known to damage the skin. These UV rays cause damage either by directly damaging DNA, which can lead to skin cancer, or by agitating molecules within the cell, causing reactive oxygen species to form. Red and near-infrared light used in red light therapy, on the other hand, does not cause damage to the cell. Red light therapy acts on the mitochondria of the cell, allowing them to produce energy more efficiently, which your body uses to perform its various functions in more efficiently.

LED Light Therapy F.A.Q.S

          Is LED Light Therapy safe?
LED Light Therapy has been used effectively for both aesthetic and medical applications. Unlike other types of light therapy, LEDs produce a pure light wavelength and do not contain ultraviolet rays. This means they are safe for regular use and cannot cause sunburn or tanning of the skin.

What does LED Light Therapy feel like?
Treatment feels similar to lying on the beach or basking in the sun – but without the harmful UV rays! Your skin should get no more than "slightly warm," but the “glow” sensation can last hours after your treatment.
